Based in Motspur Park in South West London, Old Blues RFC is a friendly and welcoming rugby union club with a fine tradition and history. The club was formed in 1873 as a rugby club for the Old Boys of Christ's Hospital School in West Sussex and although we are an open club - membership is available to all - we continue to enjoy a strong connection with the school and its alumni.
Old Blues RFC has enjoyed remarkable recent success with the 1st XV winning promotion three times in succession in 2008/09, 2009/10 and 2010/11. Our 1st XV now compete in London South West 3 and play throughout the season across London, Surrey and Hampshire. Our 2nd XV has also enjoyed promotion in recent years and now competes in Surrey Conference 1. For the more social players our 3rd XV turns out regularly in the Merit league and we field a Vets team (age 35+) on a select number of weekends each season.
We train on Wednesday nights under the expert guidance of Head Coach Simon Dear (ex-Harlequins, Barbarians and England A) and we are committed to providing a playing environment that is about enjoyment, fair play, and the spirit of rugby. We are a truly global club and have fielded players from South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, France, Italy, USA, Canada, Germany and even Brazil!
If you would like to get involved, as a player or supporter, please get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you at Motspur Park soon!
