Old Blues vs Haslemere

The Old Blues got their league campaign back on track with a well earned victory over Haslemere on a glorious day down at Motspur Park. Spurred on by a large crowd down for the club’s annual reunion day and keen to put last week’s result behind them, the Blues got off to a good start with a well worked try scored in the corner. Their first score settled the blues and they combined well to score some well worked tries of the set piece as well as capitalising on some mistakes made by Haslemere in broken play. The first half finished with the Blues leading 22-10. The second half saw the Haslemere turn up the heat and mount a sustained assault on the Old Blues line. However, the Old Blues defence was outstanding and held firm. A couple of well taken penalty kicks kept the scoreboard ticking over and the result was put beyond any doubt with Kobby sealing his HdM performance touching down under the posts after a brilliant kick and chase. The final score was 35-10 to the Blues which helped keep spirits high for the ensuing reunion day fun and games and a great day down at the club.
