Old Blues vs Old Freemen's
With a weekend off from league duty, we welcomed Old Freemen's down to Motspur Park for a friendly. A few positional changes and a few new faces saw a terrific performance from the Blues, with Hugo Shepherd enjoying himself at 10 and Tom Sumner (at 12) forming a terrific partnership with James Mitra. It was pretty clear from relatively early on that Freemen's weren't playing a full strength side, but even still the performance from the Blues (both in defence and attack) was up there with anything I have seen in the last five years. Freemen's tormentor in chief was Homme du Match Jon Bound, who was seemingly everywhere for the full 80 minutes. Some great tries were scored by David D'Netto, Tom Sumner and James Mitra, but the defensive lines which we have worked on proved to be our real strength, with the poor Freemen's 10 reduced to a quivering wreck by the end of the match!
