Old Blues &
JFS Financial -
Argentina
TOUR Summer 2011
________________________________________________________________________
The Old Blues will be continuing its proud touring tradition and casting its
net to Argentina - the land of the Gaucho in the Summer of 2011.The last
time that the Blues ventured across the Atlantic was to California in the
early 1990s for the club’s 125th Anniversary, and this tour promises to be
just as epic!
What can you expect to experience?
12 days touring around Argentina’s rugby heartland, including stops and
games in Buenos Aires, Rosario and Cordoba.
Experience the traditional Tercer Tiempo after-match rituals of the tough
tackling Argentineans.
4-5 games (with the potential for a Vets match depending on how many of the
Old Guard sign-up!).
Big slabs of steak and vats of red wine.
Experience the sights and sounds of a Boca Juniors football match.
Find out what the Argentineans really think of Mark Davey and Rob Huckin.
This tour is open to all current players, old CH boys and vets as well as
club members and any CH boys that will be playing 1st XV in the 2010-2011
season – we are aiming to take a party of 40 tourists.
The figures
As I’m sure you’ll appreciate, touring to Argentina will be much more of a
financial commitment that our normal tours – hence the considerable notice.
A final cost has not been determined as of yet, but an initial figure of
£1000 (which includes all flights, accommodation, transfers, excursions, bus
hire, and tour kit) is a decent place to start from. We will however be
making concerted efforts to fundraise extensively for this trip, through
events, and annual dinner auction proceeds.
Payment and deposit methods will be announced in the upcoming months, with
options to start paying as early as the New Year available. Monthly payment
options will be available e.g. £20 per month with balance payable a month
before departure.
Please do not be put off by this price – if you are keen to come on tour but
have reservations about the price, please get in touch – we will make every
effort to work with tourists to facilitate as many of you coming as
possible.
